Understanding
One Team East Devon is about building a supportive collaborative culture where everyone feels connected, valued, and works together towards shared goals.
Development
One Team East Devon was developed alongside the People Strategy, which aimed to create a new culture within the organisation. Staff surveys had revealed themes with organisational support and a culture that affected employee satisfaction. Challenging questions were asked about how people felt in the organisation and how this could be improved. Staff didn't feel a sense of belonging or that there was a supportive team ethos, and this was directly affecting staff morale and wellbeing.
To combat this I researched what's key to a successful team. Some of the most successful teams are those in sport and so I looked at the teams themselves and their fan base. I wanted to find out what made the fans in particular feel a sense of belonging and pride with their team. From this I was able to develop the following framework that would help increase employee satisfaction, sense of belonging.
